Childspace is a small, relationship-based early childhood center in State College, Pennsylvania. Our primary focus is providing responsive, play-based care for infants and toddlers, with a Nature Preschool program for children ages 4 and 5.

We offer full-time and part-time care in a calm, home-like setting where children are known by name, personality and story.

We are not a chain. We are not a corporate center. Childspace is personal, community-focused and intentionally small.

The first years matter most

The first three years of life are foundational. Secure attachment, language development and emotional regulation are built during this time.

In our two programs, Birth and Early Toddlerhood and our Nature Preschool, care is responsive and individualized. Teachers learn each child’s cues, rhythms and preferences. Feeding, rest and play follow the child, not a rigid schedule.

Our Nature Preschool for ages 4 and 5 builds on this foundation, offering a gentle bridge to kindergarten through outdoor exploration and play-based learning.
