Where childhood unfolds naturally.
Play-based care for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers in State College, PA
Infant & toddler care
Ages 3 months through 3 years
Our primary focus. Responsive, relationship-based care
for the first three years, shaped by play, sensory exploration and nurturing routines that support emotional and physical development.
Nature preschool
Ages 4 to 5 years
A small, play-led preschool experience rooted in outdoor exploration and hands-on learning. Children build confidence, curiosity, and social skills through movement, imagination, and time in nature.
Our approach
Childspace is grounded in play-based learning, emotional development, and respectful caregiving. We believe children learn best when they feel safe, supported, and free to explore at their own pace.
Learning through free exploration
Free exploration supports creative thinking, problem-solving, and confidence in young children. Through open-ended, play-based learning, children make choices, test ideas, and develop social-emotional skills at their own pace.
Rhythms you’ll want to continue at home
At Childspace, our daily rhythms are designed to feel calm, predictable, and supportive — for children and families. Simple routines like unhurried transitions, shared meals, time outdoors, and space for rest help children feel secure and capable. Over time, families often find these same rhythms naturally shaping life at home. When routines are responsive instead of rigid, children gain confidence, emotional regulation skills, and a sense of belonging that carries far beyond the classroom.
