Learning Language
Our teachers support the rapid language learning of children at this age by offering many songs and stories, by encouraging and engaging conversations, and by helping children practice using words to get what they want. Moving and Playing Teachers ensure the classroom has materials that support free play with the understanding that children this age learn through moving. We also offer teacher-planned and teacher-led small group activities such as art, sorting, counting, and baking that children can join if they want. |
Becoming a Friend
Teachers provide continuous guidance for toddlers' social interactions including how to acknowledge and express emotions, how to take turns, how to use words to solve problems, and how to become aware of the feelings of others. Staying Connected Parents can check updates and message teachers throughout the day using the Brightwheel app. We have photos of each child's family in the room for the children to look at, hold, and talk about. |
